Who is it designed for?

The Level 2 Course for Technical Officials (Olympic Weight Lifting) is suitable for those looking to develop their skills as a technical official for competitions. Learners should be committed to their own development and looking to officiate in various roles at competitions across the UK. This course is suitable for those who are new to officiating, but who have some knowledge of the sport and would like to learn how to apply that in an officiating role.

What does the Level 2 Course qualify me to do?

The course will qualify the successful candidate to act as a BWL Technical Official (a Technical Official Licence will be required) at any of the below competitions:

  • All Tiers 2, 3, 4 and 5, roles will be selected dependent on experience.

Candidates are required to:

  • be at least 16 years of age on the day of purchase

  • have some experience of the sport and competition


The course is an online course, which on average takes around 3 hours to complete including assessment.

Candidates can be reassessed twice within a 12-month period from registration (through the E-Learning platform)
